    Picarro G2201-i Cavity Ring-down Instrument

The Picarro G2201-i is capable of measuring the concentration and isotopic composition of both CO2 and CH4. This makes it the ideal instrument to use in soil respiration studies, particularly those that include a 13C labelled tracer.

Our G2201-i is interfaced with SAM autosampler which allows for the automated analysis of samples stored in 12 mL exetainers.

    Thermo Scientific FlashSmart Elemental Analyzer

The FlashSmart elemental analyzer is a dry-combustion analyzer capable of measuring carbon, nitrogen, and sulfur (if so configured). We exclusively use the instrument to analyze solid samples including soils, plant biomass, bacterial pellets, and more. This is the go-to instrument that is used for analyses that do not require isotopic composition data.

    Thermo Scientific EA IsoLink IRMS

This system combines a Thermo Scientific Delta Q isotope ratio mass spectrometer and a Flash IRMS elemental analyzer to measure carbon and nitrogen content and isotopic composition. We accept both natural abundance and isotopically enriched samples up to 5 atom % 13C or15N.
